ELDERMET Lunchtime Seminar Series

Professor Kevin Cashman, Professor of Food and Health, UCC, will give a public information seminar entitled "Diet and Ageing" as part of the ELDERMET Lunchtime Seminar Series.

The ELDERMET Lunchtime Seminar Series, part of the Celebration of Positive Ageing events at UCC, brings experts in geriatric medicine, nutrition, epidemiology, physical and mental health to speak on these aspects of ageing in Ireland. All seminars take place in the Brookfield Health Sciences Complex, College Road from 1 - 2pm and entry is free and open to everyone. ELDERMET is an Irish project, funded under the Food for Health Research Initiative, examining correlations between the intestinal bacteria and health, diet and lifestyle in older Irish adults ( Attendees will also have a chance to see the Age Action Ireland Photographic exhibition on show at the Jennings Gallery at Brookfield Health Science Complex, with images submitted by the general public challenging negative perceptions of ageing and older people. Entry is free and all are welcome. The Jennings Gallery and Brookfield are fully accessible buildings.
