Say I'm Innocent - Film Screening and Panel Discussion
Screening of Fallout documentary followed by panel discussion with film director and two exonerees featured in the documentary, Sunny Jacobs and Peter PringleThis event will involve a screening of the Fallout documentary, previously broadcast on RTE and BBC. Fallout focuses on the post-prison lives of four high profile exonerees - Paddy Hill (UK, Birmingham 6), Robert Brown (UK), Sunny Jacobs (USA/Ireland) and Peter Pringle (Ireland). The film will be followed by keynote speeches from the film's director and two of the featured exonerees: Sunny Jacobs and Peter Pringle. This screening of Fallout forms part of a wider campaign called "Say I'm Innocent" which focuses on long- serving, exonerated prisoners. Exonerees face particular challenges when released into an unfamiliar world; for the most part they are offered no services or support of any kind. Many end up in a legal limbo with little hope of compensation or real justice. For more information on the campaign, see http://sayiminnocent.com/ . This film screening and panel discussion from part of the 2017-2018 film series of the Centre for Criminal Justice and Human Rights at the School of Law, UCC.
