Climate Justice and Adaptation Strategies (CCJHR)

The CCJHR invites you to a public panel discussion on the human rights impact of climate change at the global and national levels

The CCJHR invites you to a public panel discussion on the human rights impact of climate change at the global and national levels. Dr Cosmin Corendea from the United Nations University in Bonn will present on how changing rainfall patterns influence individual and community decisions to migrate in countries such as Bangladesh, Peru and Tanzania. For full details of the UN University research see: www.wheretherainfalls.org. Diego Quiroz-Onate will then detail the Scottish Human Rights Commission's work on promoting a climate justice approach to policy in Scotland. Bringing the discussion to the Irish and local context, Oisin Coghlan from Friends of the Earth Ireland will discuss the current Climate Action Bill, and Dr Dug Cubie, UCC will examine the Irish climate change adaptation framework. This inter-disciplinary event will be of interest to anyone concerned with the impact of a changing climate and how we respond both here in Ireland and also at a global level. This event is free, but registration is required. For full details, see: www.ucc.ie/en/ccjhr/news/fullstory-479110-en.html
