Join us for a film screening of "Son of Man - An African Jesus," presented by Professor Adele Reinhartz from the Department of Classics & Religious Studies, University of Ottawa, Canada. Following the film, a discussion will be held with Professor Nuala Finnegan (Dept. of Spanish/UCC Equality Committee,) Bishop Paul Colton (Cork, Cloyne and Ross - Church of Ireland,) Dr. Karl Kitching (Director - Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Unit - UCC,) and Dr. Caroline Williamson (World Languages/Violence, Conflict and Gender Research Cluster.) This event is presented by the Study of Religions - School of Asian Studies, in cooperation with the Institute for Social Sciences in the 21st Century, Women’s Studies, Film and Screen Media; LGBT Staff Network; Violence, Conflict and Gender Research Cluster; and Cork’s Three Faiths Forum. Dr. Amanullah De Sondy, Senior Lecturer in Contemporary Islam and Acting Head for the School of Asian Studies, will serve as chair for the discussion.
