Bozzini quartet – What happened to the string quartet in the 20th century?
Three pieces stand out at the beginning of the 20th century and set a new: Stravinsky’s and Webern’s dramatically short and condensed pieces open a door which nobody thought was even there while in America Charles Ives invents a music which is unheard of. The renowned Bozzini Quartet from Canada talks about the different roads composers took at this very specific moment in music history, demonstrates and performs music by Webern, Stravinsky and Ives.
