Public lecture: "Shakespeare, O'Casey, and ‘the Nature of an Insurrection’"

As part of the Shakespeare 400 commemorations and the 'Shakespeare and the Easter Rising' programme,a public lecture on "Shakespeare, O'Casey, and ‘the Nature of an Insurrection’" by Dr Ger Fitzgibbon.

As part of the Shakespeare 400 commemorations and the 'Shakespeare and the Easter Rising' programme, Dr Ger Fitzgibbon will deliver a public lecture on "Shakespeare, O'Casey and 'the Nature of an Insurrection'" exploring Shakespeare's influence on O'Casey's drama and his impact on the wider cultural landscape of Ireland during the Easter Rising and the War of Independence. The lecture takes place at 6pm in the Council Room, on the Quad, on Tuesday 26th at 6pm. All are welcome. Dr Ger Fitzgibbon is a Former Head of Drama & Theatre Studies at UCC, a writer, and director, and recently directed "Juno and the Paycock" at Cork's Everyman Theatre.
