Reflections and Speculations on the Translation of Poetry
As part of the series 'This Dust of Words: Poetry and/as Translation, Lorna Shaughnessy will reflect on her own experiences and will discuss some of the challenges of translating poetry from Galician and Spanish.
‘Pumpernickel, Transubstantiation and the Tuning Fork: Reflections and speculations on the translation of poetry’ is the title of this research seminar in which Dr Lorna Shaughnessy (NUI Galway) will share her views about the translation of poetry, providing relevant examples from her own published translations of contemporary Galician and Spanish poetry into English.
