‘Antlerworking, towns, and the start of the Viking Age’. Dr Steve Ashby, University of York

The Department of Archaeology is delighted to welcome Dr Steve Ashby, University of York, to deliver this week's lunchtime seminar entitled ‘Antlerworking, towns, and the start of the Viking Age’. Steve Ashby BSc (Birmingham), MSc Ph.D (York) is a medieval archaeologist with specialism in the archaeology of portable material culture and the use of animal products in craft and industry. He is particularly interested in the relationship between the various regions of Britain and Scandinavia before, during, and after the Viking Age. The talk will be held from 1pm, Tuesday 10th February across from the Department of Archaeology in room CONNA (Connolly Courtyard - through archway to left).
