Panel on Freedom of Speech

In response to the "Charlie-Hebdo" massacre, this panel aims at addressing Freedom of Speech and its potential limits.

The tragic events in Paris regarding the murder of the Charlie-Hebdo humorists have sparked worldwide debate on the limits of Freedom of Speech. As a response to this attention, and in collaboration with the French and Religion Departments, the Philosophy Department is holding a panel on Freedom of Speech and its Limits (if any). The panelists are Dr. Angela Ryan (French), Dr. Lidia Guzy (Religion), Dr. James Kapalo (Religion), and Dr. Cara Nine (Philosophy). The moderator for the event is Dr. Alice Pinheiro Walla (Philosophy). The event will take place on the 16 of February 2015 at 1530-1730 in Brookfield G04, UCC. All are welcome!!!
