Digital Oral History Launch and Lecture
Reveal of the Cork Folklore Project's Online Catalogue, with talk from international digital oral historian, Doug Boyd: 'Accelerating Change: Oral History, Innovation and Impact'.The Cork Folklore Project are delighted to reveal our online catalogue, with will serve as a portal to an archive of over 700 audio interviews, collected in Cork since 1996. We are excited to have Doug Boyd, an international leader in digital cultural heritage practice, to launch the catalogue and give a talk discussing the past and future of digital oral history practice. Doug Boyd is an international expert on oral history, archives, and digital technologies. He is the Director of the Louie B. Nunn Center for Oral History at the University of Kentucky Libraries. He manages the Oral History in the Digital Age collaborative initiative publishing current best practice and models for collecting, curating and disseminating oral histories. Additionally, Boyd leads the team at the University of Kentucky that envisioned, designed and implemented OHMS (Oral History Metadata Synchronizer), an open source digital tool for enhancing access to online oral history.
