Smartcard payment service are being introduced to UCC ID Cards. Cardholders can top up their ID Cards and avail of print and copy and payment service within outlets across Campus.
University College Cork is excited to announce the official launch of the Smartcard project on the 8 September 2014. The Smartcard project will see the introduction of cashless services to UCC ID Cards. Students and staff can avail of payment services across campus with their ID Card. The Smartcard services being introduced are printing and copying facilities, payments withing outlets in addition to vending machines.
Cardholders can avail of top-up online or at cash facilities across campus. Additionally, visitors to the UCC Campus may also avail of Smartcard payments throught the use of a Visitor cards which can be purchased upon their arrival.
Existing cardholders will enable their current ID card for the new services through a 'Tap & Go' system. Once enabled, cardholders can top-up and avail of the new services. To mark this substantial step forward for UCC payment services, UCC President Dr. Michael Murphy will be converting his existing Staff card into a Smartcard through the specially allocated 'Tap & Go' system - the week prior to the launch.
The introduction of Smartcard services will enhance the Student, Staff and UCC Visitor experience. This is a large move forward for campus services withing University College Cork as this introduction will be launched to approximately 18,000 Students and 6,000 Staff.
