Four worlds collide for Honorary Conferring
Four leading figures in the world of business, music and art, the humanities and higher education are to receive honorary doctorates from UCC on Friday June 6th.

- Ms Kathleen Murphy, president of Personal Investing at Fidelity Investments. She has repeatedly been named one of the “50 Most Powerful Women in Business” by Fortune magazine amongst other. She will also partake in a discussion, ‘An Audience with Kathy Murphy: Women Leadership in Business’, on the evening of Thursday June 5th in Hayfield Manor (please email firstname.lastname@example.org to check availability, RSVP only)
- Prof Benedict Anderson, Aaron L. Binenkorb Professor Emeritus of International Studies, Government & Asian Studies at Cornell University in New York and renowned political scientist and author.
- Ms Pauline Oliveros, composer, accordionist, performer and author, is the third recipient. Ms Oliveros is a leading figure in contemporary American music.
- Prof Dinesh Singh, Vice Chancellor at Delhi University is the final recipient. In his current role, he has been instrumental in bringing about a range of new reforms aimed at improving the student experience and the relevance of university to employers, students and the wider community. Prof Singh will also deliver a lecture on Thursday 5th June at 6.30pm in Boole Lecture Theatre 3, UCC, entitled ‘India in the 21st century’, as part of UCC’s Centre for Global Development ‘Global Challenges’ lecture series.
