ISS21 Showcase: Understanding Children's and Young People's Lives in Ireland
This event will feature new findings from a range of recently completed ISS21 research projects on children’s and young people’s lives in contemporary Ireland. The event will be followed by the launch of two new reports by ISS21 members.
The research being presented at the event contributes to current debates on and understandings of children’s and young people’s lives, in areas such as child and youth participation, children’s beliefs, values and sense of belonging inside and outside of schools, child care proceedings in the District Court, child abuse reports, youth health inequalities, youth work volunteering and children’s experiences of estate regeneration. The research presented at the event has been funded by the Irish Research Council, the Department of Children and Youth Affairs, Department of Environment, Community and Local Government, National Youth Council of Ireland, and the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences UCC.
