‘The UK, Ireland and the EU: Re-negotiation, Referendum, Repercussions’

‘The UK, Ireland and the EU: Re-negotiation, Referendum, Repercussions’

The British government has committed to holding an ‘in/out’ referendum on EU membership by the end of 2017. The UK is now engaged in a process of seeking to re-negotiate its relationship with the EU ahead of that referendum. How these developments play out will have important implications for the UK, the EU, Ireland, the Anglo-Irish relationship and Northern Ireland. At this event, a senior UK speaker will outline the UK’s re-negotiation strategy and UCC academics will contribute to a panel discussion on the issues raised. The event is open to UCC students and staff and the general public.
