The Companies Bill 2012 (seminar)

This Seminar on the Companies Bill is designed as an introductory seminar for practitioners interested in company law, insolvency law, banking law and other related areas. The Companies Bill represents an ambitious consolidation and reform of company law in Ireland. It is due to be passed later this year. In conjunction with the Southern Law Association, the Faculty of Law has organised this seminar as an initial survey of this reform and consolidation project. The practitioner oriented element of the seminar will be preceded by a lecture on the legal concept of independence as it applies to company directors and to the judiciary. It is proposed that a discussion at the end of the seminar will focus on future topics which might be of interest to practitioners as the Bill progresses to enactment.
