CACSSS masterclass: Celebrating Shakespeare 400: Performing Pericles

“Celebrating Shakespeare 400: Performing Pericles, Prince of Tyre” is an IRC-funded project to mark the Shakespeare quartercentenary. The project comprises a staged reading and a masterclass/symposium.

All welcome to attend the staged reading of Pericles on Monday 14th (see Eventbrite for tickets) and the masterclass on Tuesday 15th. With papers that address a wide range of topics including the Apollonius tale in Old English and in Middle English, manuscript and print culture, gender studies, bawdy language in neo-Latin texts, Shakespeare on film, the Shakespeare canon, and editing early modern drama, and concluding with a roundtable on the performance of Pericles, this masterclass will explore and enhance our understanding of Shakespeare and will make a distinctive contribution to the year-long global celebrations of Shakespeare’s life and work in 2016.
