A symposium in honour of Prof. Patricia Coughlan

Distinguished scholars and writers gather, to mark the occasion of Professor Patricia Coughlan's retirement from University College Cork

A symposium on topics related to gender, sexuality and Irish culture, taking its bearings from the field- defining scholarship of Professor Patricia Coughlan. The symposium will be opened by Professor Caroline Fennell, Head of CACSSS and the day will conclude with a reception in the Staff Common Room at 5pm, to which all are cordially invited. President Michael Murphy has kindly agreed to speak at the reception and we will also be joined by two noted poets, who will read in honour of the occasion: Adjunct Professor of English Bernard O'Donoghue and UCC Writer-in- Residence Leanne O'Sullivan. The event will be live streamed via Panopto.
