Celebrating Shakespeare 400 - staged reading of Pericles

For the first time ever Shakespeare's critically-neglected play, "Pericles" comes to Cork! Performed by UCC students and LittleShoes Productions the reading makes a unique contribution to the Shakespeare 400 commemorations.

This staged reading forms part of the “Celebrating Shakespeare 400: Performing Pericles, Prince of Tyre” to commemorate the Shakespeare quartercentenary. As far as records can determine, the staged reading will be only the second ever performance of Pericles in Ireland and the first in Munster. The reading will be performed by students from UCC’s Drama and Theatre Studies and from LittleShoes Productions and will be directed by Sinéad Dunphy. This is a free but ticketed event (see Eventbrite for tickets: s-pericles-prince-of-tyre-staged- reading-in-cork-tickets-29120580440? aff=es2#tickets) The reading will be followed on Tuesday by a masterclass/symposium in the CACSSS seminar room, ORB, UCC. The “Celebrating Shakespeare 400: Performing Pericles, Prince of Tyre” project is funded by the Irish Research Council New Foundations scheme and is led by Dr Edel Semple.
