Fairy Lore & Landscapes Exhibition, Curated by Dr Jenny Butler

The exhibition is based on comparative ethnographic research by Dr Jenny Butler, Study of Religions Department. The exhibition contains audiovisual clips from fieldwork as well as artwork and is a collaboration with the Boole Library.

The Fairy Lore and Landscapes Exhibition is part of Dr Jenny Butler's ongoing comparative ethnographic research project on traditions connected to fairies and how beliefs, legends and traditions are connected to landscapes. The project investigates this aspect of intangible cultural heritage in its connection to materiality and place, in relation to Ireland, Iceland and Newfoundland in Canada. Stages of the project have been funded by the Royal Irish Academy (RIA), the Ireland Canada University Foundation (ICUF), the Newfoundland - Ireland Partnership (Department of the Taoiseach), and the CACSSS Research Support Fund. You can find out more on the project website: or on social media, Facebook: and Twitter @fairylandscapes All are welcome to view the exhibition (and there are some interactive elements) and please add your thoughts to the Guestbook!
