Granary & Clinic Media Present Tissue by Louise Page
With both humour and insight, Tissue follows Sally Bacon’s journey through the fear, shock, anger and ultimate survival of breast cancer.
Why me? It is a question as unsolvable as why am I here? Why me? Tissue follows Sally Bacon’s journey through the fear, shock, anger and ultimate acceptance of breast cancer. With both humour and insight the play explores our attitudes to the breast; using the perspectives of self, childhood and motherhood, and wryly charting the reactions of friends, brother, father and lovers. First staged in 1978 it broke the taboo surrounding this issue; yet the fear and confusion Sally encounters is still part of the experience of many 21st Century women.Category: | Arts and Cultural Events: Granary Theatre |
