Perspectives is a series of free lunchtime talks exploring one question or idea from the point of view of different artists, critics and curators. This series accompanies the exhibition Modern Families. Which individuals were influential or had an effect on contemporary artists’ practices? What artists did they admire or learn from? In these free lunchtime talks, artists discuss the people who helped them on their way; from educators to family members, colleagues to role models. Addressing the idea of How I became an artist, these talks provide an insight into the formative moments and experiences of their practice. Isabel Nolan 1pm, Thursday, 3 October
