This free lunchtime concert features Jean Michel Veillon and Giles Le Bigot.Widely credited with introducing the simple system wooden flute into Breton folk music, and primarily responsible for its widespread adoption among many dozens of young musicians throughout Brittany, Jean-Michel Veillon has achieved widespread recognition as one of world’s premier traditional flute players. He toured Europe and the US extensively in the 1980s as a founder member of Kornog, Pennoù Skoulm, Den and Barzaz before turning to duo work with guitarists Yvon Riou and Gilles Le Bigot. Gilles Le Bigot began his career as a professional guitarist in 1984. He has been involved in many prominent musical projects and was a member of the most influential Breton folk groups, Kornog, Barzaz and Skolvan. Gilles has developed a distinctive guitar style and is renowned for his beautiful compositions and delicate arrangements.
