Lecture Course: A History of Photography

This six week lecture course provides an overview of the history of photography.

This six week lecture course provides an overview of the history of photography, beginning with the earliest experiments by Fox Talbot and Daguerre, through to the key movements and ideas that shaped the development of photography in the 20th Century, and culminating in a  consideration of the influence of the digital in recent contemporary work.

Led by the Glucksman curatorial team of Chris Clarke, Fiona Kearney and Matt Packer, this course will provide an understanding of how photography established itself as an artform. Each lecture will reference works currently on public view in the gallery in Out of the Dark Room: Works from The David Kronn Collection.
