The Lantern project: Rising from the Ashes
Rising from the Ashes is a collaborative installation created by 12 participants at The Lantern community Project, Nano Nagle Place Cork.Over the course of the summer the group worked with community artists Spark Deeley and Susan Barimo to create a large scale artwork for public display. The artwork, a Phoenix bird, is comprised of a series of handmade flowers and is an expression of how the participants experience the support of nature through troubled times, finding within themselves strength to rise once again. You are invited to join us on Thursday 26 September at 3pm for the launch of the exhibition and to celebrate the artists. This project has been supported by a Community Arts & Health Grant from the HSE and The Glucksman UCC. The exhibition runs in the small Sisk gallery until 9 Oct.
