Golf Classic in aid of Cancer Research

Limited tee times are available for teams of three at €250 before 1pm and €300 thereafter, which includes green fees, a meal and a goodie bag.

It’s that time of year again, with our annual fundraising Lee Valley Golf Classic taking place on Friday, 30th of May in aid of Breakthrough Cancer Research Centre, funding cancer research programmes administered by Cork Cancer Research Centre. With over 200 golfers participating, we are hoping to raise much needed funds for the centre to continue with the development of new cancer treatments for the most difficult to treat cancers. The event is once again kindly sponsored by The River Lee Hotel and supported by Musgrave Group and Quish’s SuperValu. Limited tee times are available for teams of three at €250 before 1pm and €300 thereafter, which includes green fees, a meal and a goodie bag. Tee box sponsorship opportunities are also available for €100. Participants will enjoy playing the Lee Valley golf course, with its unique design, boasting a Parklands-type setting that demands the skills required to complete a Links course due to the ever-changing local wind conditions. Monies raised through Breakthrough Cancer Research are used to support focused research programmes, directly fund scientists and purchase laboratory consumables. It will enhance facilities with state-of-the-art equipment and ensure that all cancer patients throughout Ireland have the opportunity to access the most up to date and effective treatment for their disease. Working closely with healthcare professionals, expert scientists, our donors and volunteers, Breakthrough Cancer Research facilitates the investment of the community in the future of cancer care. There is hope and that hope is in research. For further information on the golf classic or to sponsor a tee box or team, please contact our Development Office on 021 490 1437 or email H.Slattery@ucc.ie. On behalf of the patients and staff at Cork Cancer Research Centre, thank you in advance for your time and consideration and we hope that you will be able to support us in any way possible.
