I am currently a senior post doctoral fellow with the Holmes/Morris group at UCC.  I have a keen interest in the successful commercialisation of nanomaterials for environmental and chromatographic applications.  I have attracted funding in these areas from the EPA, the EU and Enterprise Ireland sources.  My PhD studies was in the Environmental space  where I successfully utilised supercritical CO2 as an alternative for convention hydrocarbon solvents for the production of the pharmaceutically important intermediate tetra ethyl pryone (TEP). I am also a director of the UCC spin out company Glantreo Ltd.
