Project description:

Photo-ID, genetic and diet study of a group of killer whales associating with offshore pelagic trawlers. Results will determine movements of this particular group of killer whales and will also determine diet and relatedness amongst individuals within the group. The results will be compared with killer communities elsewhere in the NorthEast Atlantic to determine relatedness with neighbouring communities and movements of this particular group of killer whales at other times of the year.
