UCC CLIMATE LAB 2018 SEMINAR SERIES

16 May

Michael John O'Mahony, Assistant Environmental Education Unit Director, An Taisce will be giving a presentation on "An Taisce and UCC, partnership for a greener campus".

Michael's presentation will take place on Thursday, May 24th at 19:00 - 20:00 in West Wing 5, Main Quad, UCC.

An Taisce’s Environmental Education Unit (EEU) is responsible for developing and operating some of Ireland’s most popular and successful environmental programmes and campaigns. In UCC, this includes the development of the Green Campus Programme and the coordination of the Climate Ambassador Programme. Green Campus encourages a partnership approach to environmental management in third level educational institutions, by placing significant importance on the inclusion of all sectors of the campus community in environmental management, protection and enhancement. The Climate Ambassador Programme focuses on identifying individuals in schools, campuses and the wider community who will work as ambassadors for climate change through training and community engagement. The EEU is also member of the international Foundation for Environmental Education, which has been recognised by UNESCO as a world-leader within the fields of Environmental Education and Education for Sustainable Development.

This is a free event open to the public organized by UCC Climate Lab at the Environmental Research Institute, and Green Campus, UCC. All are welcome. Please register here. For further details, please contact Dr Maria Kirrane (m.kirrane@ucc.ie).
