Education Studies Association of Ireland holds 2017 Conference in UCC

ESAI's 2017 Conference Announcement

Six School of Education staff members are presenting papers at the conference, to be held between Thursday 20th and Saturday 22nd April.

On Thursday, 20th April, Professor Kathy Hall will participate in the ESAI Opening Panel on 'Changing research: Working the spaces between education policy and practice'. This session will take place at 7.30pm in the River Lee Hotel, Cork.

The full programme of ESAI sessions will take place on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st April, in UCC's Western Gateway Building. School of Education staff members will participate in the following sessions:

Friday Session 1, Room G.17, 09.30 - 11.00

Dr. Máire Ní Ríordáin and Dr. Eílis Flanagan: 'Endorsing the narrative in bilingual learning in maths to inform education policy and practice'

Friday Session 3, Room G.15, 13.30 - 15.00

Dr. Kevin Cahill, Dr. Alicia Curtin, Professor Kathy Hall, Dr. Dan O'Sullivan: 'Learning at the limits: teacher perspectives on learning and identity in post-primary alternative education settings'

Friday Session 4, Room G.17, 15.30 - 17.00

Dr. Karl Kitching: 'A thousand tiny pluralities: Children engaging ethics and injustice amid debates on school futures in Ireland'

Saturday Session 6, Room G.13, 11.30 - 13.00

Dr. Dan O'Sullivan: 'Newly qualified teachers' perspectives on their mentoring experiences'
