Our Current Research
Dr Dan O’Sullivan, School of Education, presents two papers at the American Educational Research Association (AERA) Annual Conference 2017, held in San Antonio, Texas, April 27th – May 1st.
Considered as the premiere event in the educational research calendar, the AERA Conference attracts approximately 15,000 attendees annually.
Entitled ‘Novice Teachers, Positional Identity Shaping and the Figured Worlds of Elementary Schooling’ and ‘Workplace-based Relational Dynamics and Beginning Elementary Teachers’ Emotions’, respectively, both papers derive from Dr O’Sullivan’s doctoral study of the induction-related experiences of beginning primary teachers during their first year of workplace practice, post-graduation.
Along with the colleagues pictured from Dan's first session, he presented alongside Amy Orange, University of Houston, Barbara Dray, University of Colorado, Denver, Kristen Duncan, Texas State University, and Hongbiao Yin, Chinese University of Hong Kong in his second session.
Dr O’Sullivan’s full doctoral thesis is available on the UCC-hosted Cork Open Research Archive (CORA) at this link
