Presentation by Brendan Bolger,

Brendan is founder of ‘FUNdamental Success LTD’ which has just recently been set up in Ireland to deliver quality training to parents and practitioners in the area of fundamental movement skills for children and adults.  Brendan is also responsible for delivering the ‘FUNs’ and ‘Raise the Bar’ Schemes which focus on developing the whole athlete and educates the coach/teacher about how best to maximise player potential.  Brendan Bolger has just recently returned to Ireland having been based in the UK since graduating with an Honours Degree in Physical Education and Sport Science from St. Mary’s College, Strawberry Hill in 1999.  He spent 2 years working in a Special Needs Primary School for children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties before returning to St. Mary’s College to complete a PGCE in Primary Education in 2004.  He spent 6 years working in Holy Family Catholic Primary School.  Amongst his responsibilities there were: PE and Healthy Schools Co-ordinator, S.P.H.E and C Co-ordinator, Extended Schools Co-ordinator, Key Stage 2 Leader and Assistant Head teacher. During his time there the school managed to attain ‘Healthy School’s’ status and ‘Active Mark Award’ which recognises exceptional delivery of PE. Brendan has represented Kilkenny in both football and hurling at Under 14, 16, minor and Under 21 level and was a member of the Kilkenny minor hurling team that won the All-Ireland in 1993.  He captained UCD Fresher’s hurling team to All-Ireland success in 1995 and was a member of the UCD Fitzgibbon team beaten in the Fitzgibbon final the same year.  He trained and managed the London Senior hurlers to promotion to Division 3A of the National League in 2009 and is currently involved with training the Wexford Senior Footballers.
