Do you need a lot of technical expertise to teach online?

Nope! Not at all.

Nope! Not at all.

I know it doesn’t feel that way when you're drowning in a sea of jargon, but it really is true. If you've ever talked to someone on Zoom/Teams/Skype/Meet/WhatsApp/Facetime/whatever, made a Word doc, or used slides while giving a talk, you're well on your way.

Of course, there are a lot of tools out there to make impressive learning packages with all the bells and whistles, but some of the most successful programmes I've supported have been delivered through a combination of pre-recorded lectures, readings (usually PDFs), slides, and discussions. The most important thing is to have a clear sense of what you want to teach, why you’ve chosen to teach in a particular way, and, crucially, to communicate with your students.
