The Centre for Digital Education provides advice to UCC staff on a range of educational technology issues. Our role is to help staff get the most out of UCC's available technologies to optimise the student learning experience. In effect, we seek to improve the teaching staff and student experiences in UCC.
Members of the CDE sit on and provide inputs to a range of groups and committees in UCC to provide advice on matters relating to educational technology. These include the Digital Education Advisory Group, the IT Steering Group, college and university programme approval panels and the Digital Badge Subcommittee of ADSC, to name a few. We regularly present to Teaching and Learning committees. If you would like the CDE to speak to a group in UCC, please send us an email to email@example.com.
One of our largest recent undertakings was to manage and advise management and staff around the move to our current Virtual Learning Environment, Canvas. We worked closely with UCC's IT Services, who managed the technical implementation, while we focussed on communicating the change to staff and students while rolling out training to those who teach. Some more details on this project can be found here.
As well as regular open and discipline-level training sessions, we are also available for one-to-one consultations. Please go to our Consultations page to learn more about this service.
