Social Media Overview - What's social media all about?
The term Social Media refers to the use of web-based and mobile technologies to turn communication into an interactive dialogue. Social media take on many different forms, the most popular in UCC including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn. This one hour overview session hopes to give a UCC staff member ideas on how to use social media, and perhaps help staff decide which form of social media, if any, would best suit their needs.
Course Contents:
This course is aimed at the beginner and incudes:
- What is Social Media?
- Who uses it?
- Is my department using it?
- What can I communicate?
- What types of social media are there?
- What are the benefits and potential pitfalls?
