Outline
The two-day course is designed to support the training of core surgical trainees and is delivered by a faculty of consultant surgeons.
It is the only such course in Ireland, and one of the very few in Europe, that is supported using fresh frozen cadavers.
Participants will gain hands-on experience with open surgical dissection in our state-of-the-art purpose-built facility.
The simulated operating rooms feature integrated audio-visual facilities to allow for real time and post-procedure feedback from expert faculty.
This is an invaluable opportunity for surgical trainees and involves staff from the ASSERT Centre and local faculty collaborating to deliver a highly effective course.
There will be 3 participants per cadaver.
Day 1 will focus on laparoscopic procedures and Day 2 will focus on open procedures.
Pre-course reading material will be provided
