Outline
This CPD offering on International Children’s Rights Law will be attractive to those who work with and for children in any setting who want to gain a thorough grounding in children’s rights law, understanding the approaches of children’s rights and how to use them in their work. It will equip students with the language and theory of children’s rights, helping to articulate and advance the rights and interests of children and young people. It is taught by Professor Kilkelly who is an established international authority on children’s rights.
Confirmation of Attendance
UCC will provide a Confirmation of Attendance Certificate.
Attendees will self-certify with their own individual professional bodies.

Places for this CPD offering are limited and come on a first-come, first-served basis.
This course is aimed at any professionals working with children including Child-care Programme Co-ordinators, Child Care Program Coordinators, Child Counsellors, Child Development and Health Specialists, Child Psychologists and Welfare Workers, Youth Workers, Legal Aid and Social Workers.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to;
- Identify the principal sources of children's rights in Irish and International Law;
- Examine Children's Rights theory
- Assess the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and mechanisms for the protection of children's rights;
- Evaluate specific children's rights issues and challenges in a critical manner.
