Outline

Confused about Coding?

This one-day workshop will introduce you to CoderDojo and its ethos. 

You'll explore what coding is and how young people can use it in your youth work setting. We will help you plan ways to integrate coding into your organisation or programme and finally, you'll learn a few technical skills you can use to mentor young people to get coding.

The course will include:

  • Introduction to CoderDojo and Coding
  • Coding and Young People
  • Scratch
  • HTML and CSS
  • Starting a Dojo

You don't need any experience with coding or computers to participate. Anyone interested in finding out more about coding and enabling young people to be tech creators is welcome to join the workshop. 

Lunch is provided.

This workshop is delivered in partnership wiht the SPEEDS project, which is a School initiative focused on enhancing lecturers' and practitioners' digital skills.

Requirements

This CPD has been developed for Youth Workers.  You don't require any experience with coding or computers to participate.
