It's a Meaningful Life: Law in the Age of Climate Change

The UCC Centre for Law and the Environment is delighted to invite you to a guest lecture by Fulbright Scholar Doug Ruley.

Doug is the General Counsel of ClientEarth and responsible for managing ClientEarth’s programmes and public interest law practice in the EU and around the world. The lecture will take place on Thursday next, 18 October from 4-6pm in the UCC School of Law, Moot Court Room.  The title of the lecture is "It's a Meaningful Life: Law in the Age of Climate Change"

Doug has 30 years of experience in environmental law and litigation, which have included serving as a staff attorney for Earthjustice in Alaska, as managing attorney for the Asheville office of the Southern Environmental Law Center, as the Director of the Environmental and Natural Resources Law Clinic at Vermont Law School, and as counsel to a private law firm. He has litigated cases involving forests, marine resources, endangered species, transportation and land use, and air and water pollution. Pursuant to a Fulbright Fellowship, Doug also taught at the University of Ljubljana law school in 2010-11. He graduated from Harvard Law School magna cum laude in 1987.
