Classics is committed to delivering as much teaching on campus as possible in the prevailing pandemic circumstances, always subject to public health guidelines.  Lectures commence on Monday 28th September.  Our courses will have a mix of face-to-face teaching and blended learning.

 

The following are timetable details of teaching in Classics for the coming academic year.  This is base on current social distancing guidelines (1m with face masks in class), which are subject to change in prevailing pandemic circumstances and public health guidelines.  Full details will be available on CANVAS module pages after registration.

The following are timetable details for Greek, Latin and Greek & Roman Civilisation:

Greek: First Year

GK1001: Students will have four lectures a week: Monday 2 -3 ORB 137,  Tuesday 11 - 12 ORB G40, Wednesday 11 -12 ORB 202 and Thursday 11 - 12 ORB 326 in semester 1. Monday 2 - 3 ORB 137, Tuesday 11 - 12 ORB 137, Wednesday 11 - 12 ORB 137 and Thursday 11 - 12 ORB 185 in semester 2.

Greek: Second Year

GK2003: Students will have two lectures a week: Monday 1 - 2 ORB 202 and Thursday 2 - 3 ORB 137 in semester 1.

GK2008: A Provisional timetable for this module is Monday 10 - 11 Geography G01 and Wednesday 9 - 10 Geography G01 in semester 2.

Latin: First Year

LT1001:/LT6001 Students will have four lectures a week: Monday 11 - 12 ORB 123, Tuesday 9 - 10 SAFCBN ANX, Wednesday 2 - 3 ORB 202 and Thursday 9 - 10 ORB 101 in semester 1.  Monday 11 - 12 Boole 6, Tuesday 9 - 10 ORB 203, Wednesday 2 - 3 ORB 141 and Thursday 9 - 10 ORB 101 in semester 2.

Latin: Second Year

LT2009: Students will have four lectures for the first six weeks of semester 1 as follows: Monday 9 - 10 ORB 145, Monday 3 - 4 ORB G46, Tuesday 2-3 ORB 137 and Thursday 9 - 10 ORB 145.

LT2037: Students will have four lectures for the second six weeks of semester 1 as follows: Monday 9 - 10 ORB 145, Monday 3 - 4 ORB G46, Tuesday 2 - 3 ORB 137 and Thursday 9 - 10 ORB 145.

LT2040: Students will have two lectures a week: Tuesday 11 - 12 ORB 326 and Tuesday 2 - 3 ORB 326 in semester 1.

LT2032/LT6016: Students will have two lectures a week: Tuesday 1 - 2 ORB G42 and Friday 1 - 2 ORB G39 in semester 2.

LT2039/LT6017: Students will have two lectures a week: Tuesday 4 - 5 ORB G42(N) and Wednesday 4 - 5 Kane G20 in semester 2.

LT2041/LT6018: Students will have two lectures a week: Wednesday 11 - 12 BL8 G01 and Wednesday 1 - 2 ORB 212 in semester 2.

LT2042/LT6011: Students will have two lectures a week: Thursday 1 - 3 ORB G39 in semester 2.

Greek and Roman Civilisation: First Year

GR1001/GK6001: Students will have three lectures a week: Monday 10 - 11 Geography Lecture Theatre, Wednesday 10 - 11 Electrical Engineering L1 and Friday 10 - 11 Boole 1 in semester 1.  Monday 10 - 11 Geography Lecture Theatre, Wednesday 10 - 11 Boole 2 and Friday 10 - 11 Boole 2 in semester 2.

 Greek and Roman Civilisation: Second Year

GR2019: Students will have two lectures a week: Wednesday 2 - 3 AL G18 and Thursday 10 - 11 AL G18 in semester 1.

GR2031: Students will have two lectures a week: Wednesday 4 - 5 ORB 202 and Friday 12 - 1 ORB 201 in semester 1.

GR2044: Students will have two lectures a week: Tuesday 10 - 11 ORB 123 and Tuesday 12 - 1 ORB 101 in semester 1.

GR2045: Students will have two lectures a week: Tuesday 1 - 2 ORB 144 and Thursday 12 - 1 ORB 326 in semester 1.

GR2018: Students will have two lectures a week: Tuesday 10 - 11 ORB 202 and Thursday 10 - 11 ORB 145 in semester 2.

GR2042: Students will have two lectures a week: Monday 1 - 2 ORB G20 and Wednesday 12 - 1 Boole 6 in semester 2.

GR2043: Students will have two lectures a week: Tuesday 1 - 2 ORB G20 (S) and Friday 1 - 2 ORB G39 in semester 2.

GR2046: Students will have two lectures a week: Monday 4 - 5 ORB 202 and Friday 12 - 1 ORB 101 in semester 2.

Greek and Roman Civilisation: Third Year

GR3027: Students will have two lectures a week: Wednesday 12 - 1 WW8 and Friday 3 - 4 ORB101 in semester 1.

GR3029: Students will have four lectures a weeks for the last six weeks of semester 1 as follows: Monday 10 - 11 Conn J7, Wednesday 10 - 11 Conn J5, Thursday 4 - 5 Conn J5 and Friday 1 - 2 Conn S5.

GR3035: Students will have two lectures a week: Thursday 2 - 3 ORB 137 and Thursday 3 - 4 ORB 156 in semester 1.

GR3026: Extended Essay (5,000 words) (semester 1 and 2): There will be an initial briefing and subsequent meetings will be organised.

GR3007: Students will have two lectures a week: Monday 10 - 11 ORB 202 and Friday 12 - 1 ORB 123 in semester 2.

For MA Modules:

GR6011: Students will have two lectures a week: Monday 4 - 5 ORB 202 and Thursday 9 - 10 ORB 203 in semester 1.

GR6012: Students will have two lectures a week: Monday 4 - 5 Geography G01 and Friday 12 - 1 Geography G01 in semester 2.

GR6013: Students will have two lectures a week: Monday 1 - 2 ORB 132 and Wednesday 11 - 12 ORB 326 in semester 1.
