After graduating as 'Licentiaat in de Taal- en Letterkunde: Latijn en Grieks' (the equivalent of a BA and an MA in Latin and Greek Language and Literature) at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 1997, Vicky obtained a Higher Diploma in Education (with distinction) from the same university in 1998. She worked as a secondary school teacher in Brussels for three years, teaching Latin and Ancient Greek in years 1 up to 6. In 2001 she moved to Ireland, where she was appointed as College Language Teacher at the Department of Classics at UCC. She teaches beginners' Ancient Greek and Latin as well as New Testament Greek. She is also Director of the annual 8-week Greek & Latin Summer School. In 2005 she received the President's Award for Excellence in Teaching at UCC.
