Neighborhoods Community Grant Scheme
UCC are proud to present the ‘Small Sparks’ community grant scheme. This grant scheme aims to provide small seed funding to assist neighbours as they undertake community projects, with collaboration from UCC students and/or staff.
These projects should be small scale, achievable, sustainable and should benefit the community. This could include graffiti removal, biodiversity projects, education or cultural initiatives. The initiative also aims to contribute to community life, through fostering positive connections between local residents, UCC staff members and UCC students.
The scheme is open to neighbourhoods that have significant numbers of UCC students residing in the area. Projects can apply for up to €250 in funding.
To run a ‘Small Sparks’ project you just need:
- An idea
- A plan to involve local people, including students or staff
- To keep a record – maybe in photos
- To share the story of your project
- To report on the success of the project
The scheme was launched on 4th Febraury 2020. Applications forms and presentation from the launch can be found below.
