Cognitive impairment in an older person: dementia, delirium, and everything in between
__________________________________________________

Abstract:

This presentation will focus on older people who are hospitalised due to, or with incidental, cognitive impairment, but can be extrapolated to any setting and to younger people. It will cover the various ways to screen for and diagnose delirium, the difference and overlap between delirium and dementia, the added confounder of depression affecting cognitive performance, and the need for "dementia friendly hospitals". It will draw on published research from others and our own on-going research in this area.

All welcome
