Qualifications and Experience: National certificate in Applied Biology from C.I.T. (merit award), National Diploma in food Science from C.I.T. (merit award).
Experience includes short term contract as Technician in Food Safety Laboratory with Southern Health Board based in St. Finbarrs Hospital Cork. Commenced employment In UCC in 1979 and worked for several years in the Dairy section of Food process hall.
Current responsibilities include the following; maintenance and supervision of process and analytical equipment in Bakery section, coordinating and supervising undergraduate practical programs, assessment of student practicals, HACCP workshop courses, assisting postgraduate and research personnel primarily in the Bakery section. Additional duties include provision of technical research assistance to industry for new product development.
