Emma graduated from University College Cork in 2019 with a first class honour in BSc Food Science. While studying in UCC, she completed an internship in PepsiCo R&D centre in Cork. There she worked on the Concentrate Development Team focussing on beverage innovation, simplification and process optimisation.
Her final year project focussed on the creation of a lower in fat almond Butter with added hemp and flax seeds for greater nutritional benefit.
Currently Emma is working as a PhD student under the supervision of Elke Arendt focussing on the conversion of brewing by-products into foods for human consumption.
