Amnesty International: Capital Punishment in the USA, Speaking Tour
Bryan Stephenson, Director of Equal Justice Initiative and Professor of Clinical Law (NYU School of Law) visited the Centre on February 7th 2007. Bryan Stephenson has been described as one of the most iconic figures in public interest litigation in the USA. He is a graduate of Harvard Law School and is the recipient of numerous honours and awards for his advocacy and litigation work representing poor people and people of colour on death row. Prof Stephenson delivered a lecture on ‘Race, Poverty and Capital Punishment in the USA’.
