Recruitment Fairs

Spring Recruitment Fair and Internship Fair 2018

Our Internship and Spring Recruitment Fair is scheduled for January 23rd 2018 - from 11am to 3pm in Devere Hall on UCC Campus. Please contact our team at graduaterecruitment@ucc.ie for further information.

Autumn Recruitment Fair 2018

The UCC Career Services Recruitment Fair is one of the most effective ways for you to meet the maximum number of potential recruits. We are running a One-Day Recruitment Fair on the 10th October, 2018.  The Fair will be held in the Mardyke Arena Sports Hall, and we will be able to facilitate up to 130 companies, so there will be a great buzz on the day.  We consistently have very high student attendance rates, with up to 3,000 students attending the recruitment fair.

Bookings will open for this fair in Spring-Summer 2018.

We also hold sectorised fairs which include the Teaching Fair, Nursing Fair, Internship Fair, and Summer Camps Fair.  More information will be posted on these very soon for 2018.

Job Roadshows

We organise a number of sector-specific job roadshows for students in September:

Employers can book a stand, network with students to raise brand awareness on campus. Student feedback suggests that job roadshows are a preferred method of meeting with employers and are seen as a more pro-active way to engage with employers than stand-alone milkround presentations. The Job Roadshows are free of charge.

The themed sector Job Roadshows are as follows:  (more information will follow in Spring/Summer 2018)

  • Banking Finance and Accountancy
  •  Food Pharma and Life Sciences Jobs Roadshow
  •  Engineering and IT Roadshow
  •  Law Roadshow

Presentations and Stands

Company Presentations

(Milkrounds)

The attendance at many company presentations events in the past number of years has been disappointing. Feedback from students is that there are too many events and other priorities such as project deadlines etc.  In an effort to ensure a high level of attendance at company presentations, we intend to invite three to four companies who are recruiting from the same sector to come on campus on the same evening. Each employer will be given the opportunity to make a short presentation to the full group of students and then the employers can meet the students individually after the presentations. The purpose of this evening is both to inform students about the sector and allow them to meet employers in the sector on the same night. Employers will still be able to make company presentations in the traditional way but we intend to prioritise these sector events in October.  We also work closely with academic departments who help us to promote these events to our students.

Information Stand

Employers have the opportunity to come on campus and put up their stand in a prominent location on campus (for example, the Boole Basement, Electrical Engineering Building, Student Centre, etc). This service has received very positive feedback from employers in the past as it is a great opportunity to meet with UCC students from all degree disciplines in an informal way.
