Undergraduate Work Placement

Undergraduate Work Placement

Welcome to the Work Placement Website.

What is Placement? It's a three-way partnership between the employer, the University and the student. It gives you the chance to recruit a valuable source of skilled labour for your business and provides a flexible solution to your recruitment needs.

Work Placement Managers, based at the Careers Service, are responsible for the management and development of programmes within Commerce, Food, Science and Engineering. A number of other Placement programmes, including Business Information Systems, are managed directly by our academic departments and information on these can be obtained from the relevant academic staff.

We have explained the Placement process by dividing it into three stages - Before, During and After Placement. Follow the three links opposite to find out about your role as a Placement employer. The Careers Service also offers a range of other services for employers, which are detailed in the After Placement stage.

If you would like to take a student on Placement, or would like more information on our Placement programmes, the Placement Managers are your first point of contact.  Click on the link to be brought straight to the Work Placement Site.
