The existing T&L Committee will change to become a broad forum for teaching interests and concerns in the College. This requires a shift from representation at school level to the functional areas of teaching at discipline and interdisciplinary level. The forum will convene once a semester to discuss broad areas of teaching and learning policy.

Three sub-committees will be drawn from membership of the main T&L Committee:

  • College Academic Development Sub-Committee (CADC) will continue to process the introduction of new teaching programmes and changes to current programmes.
  • A new Student Experience Sub-Committee will develop policy and practice to support student engagement with teaching (attendance, digital environment, Library, etc.), student well-being, and the quality of the teaching environment (space etc). This will replace the old Student Affairs Committee, with Chair’s Action to continue in respect of student applications/requests (Vice-Head will assume responsibility for same).
  • A new Recruitment and Marketing Sub-Committee to support income generation and the sustainability of teaching, through measures such as open days, school promotions, social media campaigns, etc. targeting domestic and international markets. New initiatives in adult education, access, part-time and distance learning.

These three sub-committees to be supported by special-purpose working groups (as required).
