The School of English is delighted to invite you to a celebration of two recent publications by staff members

Staged Normality in Shakespeare's England looks at the staging and performance of normality in early modern drama.  The volume responds to studies of the everyday and the material turn in cultural history, as well as to broader philosophical engagements with the idea of normality and its opposites. A History of Modern Irish Women's Literature offers the first comprehensive survey of writing by women in Ireland from the seventeenth century to the present day. Demonstrating the pioneering achievements of a huge number of many hitherto neglected writers, the book makes a critical intervention in Irish literary history.
