Pádraig Ó Cíobháin was born in An Ghráig, Ballyferriter in 1951. He received his education at Ferriter National School, St. Brendan’s College Killarney and University College, Cork. He now lives in Bearna and was appointed Irish Language Writer in Residence in the National University of Ireland, Galway 2003–2005. He is at present a tutor in Roinn na Gaeilge in the National University of Ireland, Galway. His publications hitherto are as follows: De Chion Focal (2015), Novella Eile (2014), Dréachta Chrích Fódla: Imleabhar 1 (2007), Ré an Charbaid (2003), Faightear Gach Laoch In Aisce (2001), Tá Solas Ná hÉagainn Choíche (1999), Ar Gach Maoilinn tá Síocháin (1998), Desiderius a Dó (1996), An Grá Faoi Cheilt (1992), An Gealas i Lár Na Léithe (1992), Le Gealaigh (1991).
